According to AP reports, a fire and explosion at Anjun Industrial in Daejeon, South Korea, on March 13, 2026, killed 14 people and injured at least 59 others.
The fire started around 1:18 p.m. Friday and spread quickly.
Thick smoke covered the factory.
Some workers jumped to escape and were injured.
Over 500 emergency personnel and 120 vehicles, including firefighting robots, worked to control the fire and prevent it from spreading.
100 kg of reactive chemicals were removed safely.
Nine victims were found in a gym on the third floor.
Three others were near a water tank on the second floor.
All missing workers have been accounted for.
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung visited the site and emphasized safety measures.
